94 cherokee stalls

I have a 94 Cherokee that had a stock alarm in it. It died so my friends dad pulled it out and did some re-wiring. Now the car is stalling at wierd times. (It didnt start immediately after the wiring was done, but I just assumed that was the problem.) Like I can drive it for 200 miles or so, over a couple of days or weeks, then it just stalls out when sitting at a light or stop sign. It has happened munerous times but no one can figure out what it is b/c by the time a mechanic gets around to looking at it (maybe a day or so), it starts and runs again. Does it have to do with the wiring or is it some common problem? Also, someone suggested that the coil wasnt getting enough power. Could that be possible? Any suggestions?

It probably has nothing to do with the alarm or wiring. This is a common problem with older Cherokees. Check or replace the CPS ( crankcase position sensor). It is located on the driver's side of the engine down by the bell housing near the exhaust manifold.
