Radiator Fan always running

My radiator fan is always on. I just got my metro and didn't realize it, but the radiator fan is always running, even when I start it up from a cold start.

Does anyone know what causes this and what the fix is. The good thing is that I know the fan runs and works. Now I just have to fix it so that it works only when it's supposed to.

BTW, I just flushed out the old antifreeze and put in some fresh antifreeze, and a new themostat.

Re: Radiator Fan always running

Do you have a manual? I dont have one here with me ,but it seems like there is a temp sensor somewhere , if you follow the wires from the fan back you should come to a sensor, and that is what is bad. I dont think that there are many other things that can make the fan run all the time

Many of the metros I see in the local junk yards have the fans modified so they come on with the ignition and run all the time. My 99 Metro the fan didn't work and it was cheaper to install a toggle switch. But The switch controls the ground only on the fan motor and the positive side is fused.
