stupid front bumper!!

ok when i was backing out of my driveway, my mom put a stump for the trashman to take away.. little did i know nor see this stump so i went right over it... the left side left a soccer ball size dent pushed in... some scratches, just the plasticy part...nothing hit/scratched in fender area... and what material is the bumper anyway... not my initial question though... im getting irritated looking at it... and want to get rid of it... now it seems like it would pop right out which im sure it would do, jsut not strong enough... its really tough... would it be easier to take off the bumper and hit it out myself... or take it to a body man and have him take it out and paint over it...and if i should do that how much am i looking at?.. or if i should just live with the paint scratches and do it myself... how do i go about taking the bumper off? thanks a bunch....

OH OH OH OH!
3rd option
should i just buy a new bumper, hell maybe a cobra or gt bumper... and just have the body man paint it the color of my car... besides the price of the bumper, how much would it cost around to get it painted?

Re: stupid front bumper!!

In order to tak the bunoer off......it is rather easy. You can leave the headlight, turn signals and parking lights in if you want. Totally up to you. The bumper bolts dierctly to the front fenders all along the seam, there are about 5 to 6 bolts along the bottom and a couple along the top I forgot how many....sorry. Be sure to disconnect your lighting first and get it out of the way. Your whole bumper assembly should come off in one piece
Now if you did not bent any brackets or part of the unibody frame you should have no trouble getting the dent out. You may want to look into a heat gun or a hair dryer it takes longer though. This is in order to heat the plastic/polethylene mixer....you may want to heat it up if the dent initially does not come out on its own. It all depends how fast you were going.....
A picture would be so much better. As far as getting the scratches out....howere deep they are....if it is only surface go down and get some rubbing compund, polishing compound and a buff cloth. It should bring the scratches right out

Re: stupid front bumper!!

Also if you decide to go with the GT or cobra bumper....it would look odd without the rest of the ground effects kit. It would be cheaper to get the whole kit for your car than getting one piece at a time
