Auto to manual?

Hello everyone, I'm new to the forum and have an 87 L6, automatic. I was wondering if these cars were made to switch between automatic trans and manual trans without too much difficulty? Other than the trans, and pedal box, is it an insane road to go down? Thanks for the help.

hey steve, i to was looking into a 5spd conv. for my 635. i found a guy in new hamshire who is familliar with the procedure and sells conversion kits for around $1200. all BMW models are offered in manual so i dont see why you couldn't make it work. sounded to me like a chellenge for the do it yourselfer, although if not your daily driver and garage space is available i was told it can be done without a lift. eurodepot.com. check it out, and let me know how it goes. best of luck!

Greg.
