popping noise when turn

when i turn ( doesnt matter left or right), it will hear a popping noise, quicker i turn, more popping it gets.

i told my truck to the shop and they cant not make that noise again and tell me i should change my lower ball joint.

Does anyone have that happen b4, and what was wrong?

Re: popping noise when turn

It may be a ball joint. Before I even knew what balljoints were I noticed popping when turning and took it to my gampas dealership. It was a balljoint and they said I was lucky a wheel hadn't flown off. I would have it looked at asap!

Re: popping noise when turn

I didn't change it, the shop did. I saw the part when it was done and it looked like an upper ball joint, but don't quote me on that. It was pretty beat up to say the least.

If the shop told you a ball joint was bad I would just have it done. Bad balljoints aren't good to drive around on.

You should check the pitmen arm or the idler arm, i just had mine replaced. It all depends on what direction your turning when it happens. There about $50, if you do it yourself it's not that bad.
