Thumbs up Strut bar

ive posted before that i was making my own strut bar... well ive had it on for a couple months and i just took it off so i could weld another bar on so i can attach it to the firewall to make it even stronger... well i took it for a lil test drive after i removed it and the car is a lot more sluggish, you can only tell when cornering hard though but when you do there is a noticable difference. so for any of you looking for a suspension mod this one isnt a bad idea... speaking from experience. i cant wait to see what its like when i get this other bar welded on

Is it near the same design as the bolt in kits? Just curious 4 now.

Re: Strut bar

AAahhhhhhh im pissed off..!! on my way home i realized that my clutch is going bad... oh well maybe now i can get a racing clutch... and then when i got here i tried to get the digital camera since my strut bar is now finished, and its broken... but i did manage to find an old crappy one so ill post some pictures off that... but they suck, and yeah my strut bar is very similar to the bolt on ones you buy, only one less bar because i wasnt sure how to attach it to the firewall.

[IMG][/IMG]

you can see the main bar going across here but its a lil hard to see the bar on the left going diagonally back to the firewall, notice there isnt one on the right, thats the one i wasnt sure about how to attach it.
[IMG][/IMG]

this one you can see the pic of the bar going back to the firewall better.

[IMG][/IMG]

this is where the bar attaches to the left strut tower, notice the weld looks kinda shitty... i didnt know the plate with the bolts in it was stainless steel when i welded it... its like that on the right side to.

thats the right side

thats where it attaches on the firewall, those welds are a lil better...

that was supposed to be a pic of the whole car... but this camera sucks balls... i plan on doing a lot of stuff to it... need to get some money tho...

Re: Strut bar

ok... figured out my lil problem, the clutch isnt goin bad after all... i thought the milage was a lil low for that... anyway in the picture im posting here you will see an area circled in green, right there the bar is a lil to close to the air intake, so when under burden the engine will actually knock into it, and it sounds like the clutch or tranny is slipping. woohoo... time to take that damn thing off again. its a pain in the ass.
