VIN number location

I am sending out my 350 engine for a rebuild, while I have it out I want to do a paper trace of the VIN to make sure I get my motor back. Can anyone advise where it it. I have looked all around the engine while I have it on an engine hoist to no avail, any help would be appreciated.

Did that first, went through the whole site didn't see it. Either I'm blind or it's not there. Solved the problem, by putting my own vin number from my truck on it.

Re: VIN number location

Well it is very small. There should be a smooth flat spot, roughly .5" by 1.5" or 2" where the numbers should be. They are stamped in place, not raised. So if the motor was really dirty you could miss it very easily.
