Unhappy don't know how to start fixing

I have a 1989 Convertible Camaro. A FORD FOCUS came speeding through a red light and smashed the front end of my car. My front clip is bent down. The rest of my car seems to be straight. I don't know where to begin to get it fixed. EVERYONE seems to have an opinion about it but too bad none of them know what they're talking about...lol. Do I take it to a shop and see if they can straighten it? Do I look for a front clip and replace it? Please help. It's Convertible weather right around the corner and my baby is just sitting here looking like nobody loves her anymore (which is sooooo not true)!!!

Damn that blows. Would say a shop (reputable) would be the way to go. Unfortunately f-bodies don't take a licken and keep on ticken. And to throw the fact it's a drop top in there it might be pretty grave. On the lighter side, so long as the a pilars aren't bent and everything still lines up doorwise, it's all in how much will and cash to make repair possible. Did you have any sub frame connectors on it? Would be plus if you did.

Geez, a ford of all things.

Re: don't know how to start fixing

We called a shop today and he's going to take a look at it. My doors still line up fine and open and close with ease. I don't know about the pillars or the sub connectors though.

Re: don't know how to start fixing

to be on the cheap route you can buy a new front end from junkyard or something, put it on... and then go get a wheel alignment. they will tell you if the frame is not straight (in most cases), or they can tell you if there might be substantial frame bending based off how far the wheels are out of alignment. they will re-align the wheels (or they won't if the frame is bent too much). at any rate, your car will be in working order, bent frame or not.
