Shake!!! And another ABS ETS Question!
2000 GA SE - ETS, ABS, and Check engine light were coming on when the weather was a little colder now that it's warming up the light hasn't coem on in a week or so. The car also has a shake at moderate speed and is a bit noisey. I had the codes checked and they point to the right front wheel, things like "no read" etc. The mechanic claims I may need a new bearing/hub assembly. I put the car on stands and checked both front wheels and there was no movement either up and down(bearing check) or left right(tie rod). Anyone have any thoughts? Is the speed sensor itself replacable? What else could cause the shake?

Re: Shake!!! And another ABS ETS Question!
The shake could be as simple as a tire out of balance or it could be a warped rotor. The noise you are hearing, is it like a metal sound or is it something different.
Have you hit any nasty potholes? The shake could also be a bad tire itself. If you hit something you may have broken a belt in the tire and it would need replaced. Or you may have lost a wheel weight causing the out of balance condition. One other thought... I had a real bad shake condition it turned out to be mud caked on the wheel this happened after my wife had gotten stuck in the mud. I hope I have been able to help. |
