93 Accord A/C compressor problem, retro fit
I have a 1993 Honda Accord LX. I believe it still has R-12 in it, because there are no adapter fittings on the high/low side ports. Plus there is no sticker stating that it has been converted to R134a.
I was going to retro fit it with a kit from interdynamics then I realized that the compressor might be shot. The AC does not blow cold, more like just having the fan on and blowing warm air. When I press the AC on button, I hear no click for the compressor turning on. Also, when I looked at the clear little glass bubble, I don't see any liquid moving through. I checked the fuses too, under the hood as well as the ones on the driver's side, specifically the AC compressor relay fuse, it's fine. Are we talking an expensive compressor replacement here or is there something else I could try? Thanks |
