My wife ownes a 98 Montero Sport and I am worried about breaking the tail light to replace a brake/parking light bulb. She has no idea where the owners manual is and I dont want to buy one just to replace a bulb.
When I open the gate there are two screws visible for each tail light. I remove those and the assembley becomes loose enough to jiggle around but no clear way to know how to detach it enough to get my hands in there. I feel like if I pull or pry too hard it will crack the lens or the paint around the light. Can anyone describe how to get this tail light removed or the proper way to replace this bulb? I do apologize if this is a re-occuring question but I tried using the search function and I wasnt able to locate a similar thread. Gaber. |

once you get the screws out their is 2 plastic lips that hold it in just wiggle it gently and it will come out.

Aw man you are a stud.
Thanks for the information. Assembly came out like you said. One less reason to get pulled over. |
