Question Any Help Would Be Great!!!

My 2000 Trooper kind of sounds like a small diesel any reasons why this is? Also the mileage is getting worse by there month I'm down to 12 mpg! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again

sounds like it could be a hole in your intake manafold gasket. if you are the 1st owner it is covered for 10yr/120k if you are the second it is covered for 5yr/60k.

spray carb clean (while the engine is running), around the intake manafold area.

You should notice an increase in idle if you have a major leak.

I had a slight fluxuation of my RPM at idle (50-75) I took my truck in for a tranny flush and they said that the IMG was bad too and they swap it out (under warranty).

They have a new gasket compound now that is suppose to last longer.

Since this is a common problem it might be worth your time just to replace the gaskets (cost under 50 bucks for the two).
