Urethane kits....

The only urethane bodykit I can find anywhere is the Blitz Kit, and I'm tired of looking at this thing everywhere I go.

Can someone point me in the direction of some urethane kits?

Re: Urethane kits....

Eh...I decided against a kit...the car is already low to the ground and all a kit will do is drag everything on the road....

So...anyone have the Eclipse factory bodykit front bumper FS?

Urethane is much stronger, and will sort of "bend" if it is lightly tapped. A fiberglass kit would most likely crack if hit.

Re: Urethane kits....

you can put a fist through fiber glass. urathane can twist and bend, its what stock bumpers are made out of. it also and expand and contract in hot and cold weather.

urethane is like your stock bumper, somewhat flexible. fiberglass is fibers and glass in a mixture which breaks or cracks easily.

Re: Urethane kits....

I just ordered blitz, only because i had the same problem as you, i need urethane, too risky to use fiberglass. I eventually think im gonna change the front bumper tho, there is a new material, like polyfiber or someshit, i might look into that.

Id leave FG to speaker boxes unless you can fix it yourself. I had one of the drift kits for my 1g for about 2 weeks, and someone bumped it at school, cracked it, i fixed it and it happened again. Poly is good, but expensive. Thats why I use the Carbon-Kevlar, lighter and stronger that carbon fiber, but costs a little less than poly. I made a lip for the 240sx awhile back he bottomed it on the goofy paved streets here and it didnt crack, broke off one the the bumper clips, but the lip was fine.

Just some stuff to keep in mind.

Re: Urethane kits....

I actually found a place that sales OEM bumpers, so I ordered the 95-96 OEM bumper for it.

I found it relevant to post the above link... it is a poly-urethane lip add-on. I'll be picking it up in a few days from L. A., along with a, invader hood. I'll post picks ASAI get the installation done (hopefully someone on here can give me some info on hood pins by then ::

Re: Urethane kits....

Not bad looking.

I found a nice lip for the 95-96 bumpers that I'll probably order sometime this summer, it all depends on ground clearance once the rims are on and the car fully repaired.

Re: Urethane kits....

I got the above lip for my friend's 96 GST... Its the Tsunami lip just for the smiley grills, and the ebay link I posted above, those guys also have specific lips for the smiley faced bumpers that are different from this one above... e-mail them to get pics if you like.

Re: Urethane kits....

Yep, that's the exact lip, Shpyder. What is it made of? My ground clearance sucks because the car is lowered 1.5'' and the new rims/tires are smaller than the monster tires that were on there before.
