Finally got her on the road

Well, The deed is done. The swap is complete and the motor is great. It is running smooth at any RPM. I have to go and get a pipe bent tomorrow so i can get the rest of my exaust on cause i am just running a straight pipe so it's loud as hell but other than that, i do have a check engine light, but i can't seem to get any codes and it is running perfect, i was thinking maybe the 2 white wires on the o2 sensor need to be swaped but i am not sure since i can't find a code, but i'll keep looking to see if anything pops up.

Re: Finally got her on the road

Sweet, good to hear man, and as for the code did your harness has two wires to hook up to a switch so you can check em??? Also it is very unlikely that the o2 heater wires will make you throw a code.

and I'm going to pick up a new starter for my car tom so hopefully all goes well with that.

Re: Finally got her on the road

Look at your ecu and count how many times the red light flashes. Then reference that number to the manual to see where the problem lies.

yeah specially since she is being such a bitch, first I was having trouble with the starter, which is caused by the block to chasis ground, and now I'm having spark issues

the two white wires on the dist, there is one inside a bundle of wires and one outside, which one goes were?

Re: Finally got her on the road

if i remember right the white one in the big bundle goes to green/yellow. I had the same prob w/ mine and civikiller told me to switch those two wires and it solved my problem. When the wires were backwards on mine my dizzy housing got warm to the touch after just a few min of cranking. my timing was also 180 degrees out, aparently someone tried to put the dizzy in upside down or something but now that i have everything right it's running great. My spedo cable poped out today so i am letting her cool off a little and i am going to go and see if i can't get it to stay in. but at least its the small things and nothing big. I get my full exaust on tomorrow, my factory piping finally played out today so i am pretty much runnin w/ my 4-3-1 header, i am going to park it until i get my exaust on tomorrow cause i am a little nervous about burning or cracking a valve so i am going to wait till tomorrow to take her back out.

Thanks

Re: Finally got her on the road

yea, i have some pics posted already. I have some fenders on the way and another roll of film started but i am wating on the fenders and hopefully a paint job to finish the roll of film so i'll get final pics posted, and pm me or anything if you have any questions and i'll help w/ what ever i can help ya with. Do you have the HF or what are you planning on doing the swap in ones&zeros. Definatley spend the money on the obd jumper harness cause it's definatley worth the money and it make the wiring easy on this swap.
