97 explorer cd changer control

I looked on the back of my stereo and I cant seem to find the connector for the cd changer. It says cd on the front of the unit so im guessing its a cd changer. Does anyone here know where the cd changer is hooked up to?

My changer is in the center console but I don't know how it's connected to the radio.

Re: 97 explorer cd changer control

The Ford cd changers if factory are hooked up in the center console and the wiring is run through the main harness through the center console up into the dash behind the radio. Now the problem with them is they are connected in a type of series so if Say, someone stole your radio or your dvd player , if you have one than the componit will not work like the cd changer or the dvd player. I'm still looking into a way of making my cd changer. In case I forgot the cd changer if in console wires will be hooked up behind the radio in the harness . Hope this helps a little.
