hood pins / installation
i was thing about getting hood pins for my 96 accord coupe. I don't race but i wanted them just for the looks. how are they installed? and do i have to remove my factory hood latch? cause i want to use both. anyone have info let me know. thanks

personal opinion:
hood pins do not belong on any car that will not be racing...they are not a "good-looking" "accessory," and look out of place on an ordinary car... |

If you are talking about real hood pins, you'll have to drill the hood and create brackets for the under the engine compartment.

hood pins are an easy install, just gotta be slow about it and make sure the holes are straight. drill a hole in the engine bay(probably close to the headlight area) where you want the hood pins located. Then measure the rod to the hood, so you know how/where to cut the hole in the hood. then line it up carefully and mount the rod to the hole in the engine bay, and the other part, that has the lock goes on the outside of the hood over your hole.
then the rest is self explanatory, shut the hood, the rod should fit perfectly int eh hole, and the locking pin should slide easily through the rod. then snap it backand you got ur self hood pins installed! |
