I've been reading your e-mails about abs and brake light coming on. Took off the speed control sensor. Tested and is bad. I bought the new sensor from dealer. New part has a black cap over the copper wiring probably to protect it during manufacturing, however I cannot get it off. Any suggestions before I go back to the dealer again. And tell them that I cannot get that darn thing off!!!!

Re: dodge ram speed control sensor
usually, there's a sliding tab on the top of the connector, slide that tab and depress the retaining clip and you should be able to pull it off, if I understood your question correctly

Re: dodge ram speed control sensor
I figured it out. The black cap belongs on the sensor and is part of it. My old sensor broke off inside the differential. Now I guess i have to take off the back plate and pop the part that's stuck inside. I think my easy 10 min job just turned into a bigger one. The dealer quoted me $350.00 no matter if it broke and stuck inside. They told me they usually break off anyway. The $350.00 includes flushing the differential and changing the $40.00 part. Ugh!! I'll put the old one back in for now and drive my truck to my friend who is a mechanic!! How hard is it to take the plate off and I assume that I need a gasket and stuff?
