Re: quick question

crankwalk isn't very common. it mostly happens after someone rebuilds the engien and my personal opinion is that the person assembling it screwed it up.

btw your vtec honda can crankwalk too. any car can do it the real term is "thrust bearing failure"

agreed...any motor can crankwalk in any car...it happens more commonly in the 2nd gen eclipses because when mitsu switched to the 7bolt 4g63 they picked up some shitty cranks (at least that's what i heared)...there's different theorys out there though about why our cars can get it. like poor oil circulation, beefier clutches with more holding force, starting the car with the clutch in, etc etc.

the best thing you can probably do is never let your oil level drop dont hold the clutch in and start saving up money for the 6 bolt swap when it does happen anyways.

the clutch switch/wire should be a little green wire under where your clutch pedal under the dashboard area. Crankwalk is thrustbearing failiur its when your crank starts moving when its not suppose to do that it starts to rub off your crank position sensor until your car wont turn on. pressing the clutch when starting the car puts stress on the crank when there has been no oil circulating through it. im not an expert or anything but you can research it there are a bunch of websites out there explaining it and why they think it happens and possible "Fixes" <== whatever
and stuff like that. just look it up. any car can get it just the 7 bolts get it alot more then normal.

Sorry I felt retarted when everybody is talking about crankwalk and All I'm doing is shrugging my shoulders. By unhooking the wire that won't hurt the car at all also will it through a CEL?

nope. plus if you want to get that auto start crap for your manual you have to do it anyways. i always thought it would be pretty nice to be walking to your car press your button and start idleing your car while your smoking a cig then when you finally get up to the car its all warmed up ready to roll.
