Compression #'s?

I just did a compression test on my newly rebuilt b18c1 yesterday. For the record it has brand new ITR pistons in it so I'm assuming it has higher comp. than a stock GSR engine. The reading's on all four cylinder's ranged from 235 lbs. to 245 lbs.. Are those normal spec's for my application? The reason I'm asking is because I'm checking for a leaking head gasket. A Honda specialist did a visual inspection on it and said that I have one. Can anybody help me?

The major thing is that when I bought this stupid block on ebay it had all 10 head bolt thread's striped out. The machine shop that built my engine helicoiled it. But I've had numerous people tell me that you can't do that to an engine block. I have a small oil leak on my engine but the oil is clear, not milky looking which would indicate coolant escaping right? So I don't have coolant leaking. And my comp. reading's only varied by 10 lbs. Any help would be very appreciated.

Re: Compression #'s?

sounds good, i dont know what compression numbers should be but a b16 should show about 210 so 235 to 245 is good. but varying 10 is alittle high but not really.

Thanks for replying but I still need to find out the right specs. My Chiltons manual say's something like 260 lbs. for the GSR and Type R engines but then it says something like 160 lbs. minimum. I really don't know for sure what that means.
