Engine Swap Problems

I did a engine/tranny swap on a 97 2.2L cavalier with a 95 2.2L. Everything plugged right in except for the crank position sensor and oil rescending unit, as the plug was different. The 97 and 95 crank sensor look different, but were the same size. The oil sensors looked the same.

The car is getting no spark. Occasionally, maybe once ever 30 revolutions, the car would spark and try to start. I am guessing that the computer isn't getting a good reading off of the crank sensor. The sensor itself is good, it just doesn't seem to be compatible between the years.

What can I do?
