Towing (small amount, don't flame me :P)

Ok, realistically, I'm thinking about getting a small trailer to tow a dirt bike like 50 miles ot to the desert and have fun. How hard is that gonna be, if even possible with a camaro? talkinga bout a 3.8l and a 350. Not on a regular basis maybe 1-2 a month at most.

They say the camaros have a 1,000 lbs towing capicity.....

personally I would be scared to pull any weight with a camaro. When you have dead weight on the back of a car, it likes to push.

Whatcha mean Hypsi? I don't understand 'it likes to push'.

I know they have a 'towing capacity' but this is gonna be a small trailer with couple hundred lbs dirt bike.

Re: Towing (small amount, don't flame me :P)

"It tends to push"

The trailer pushes on the car, when you stop, the trailer wants to go forward, when you accelerate, the trailer wants to stay still, etc

Re: Towing (small amount, don't flame me :P)

There are several people in my area that tow trialers on the back of their Camaro's to SCCA events to haul racing tires and tools.

Re: Towing (small amount, don't flame me :P)

that little bike will be fine on that 3.8. I'm going to put a removable tow hook on my camaro after I get this 350 put in.... just because I can. I built the tranny to handle a lot of stress, and the engine will do it with no problem. Who has ever seen a camaro tow a big trailer or boat??? It's just a matter of time now.
