1979 corvette

OK i just bought a 1979 corvette for $2500. The guy had it sitting under a tree for 5 years. Suprisingly the paint is not bad at all. Its in good condition, automatic, and has a nice sounding engine. The thing is i dont know exactly what engine i have. the guy said he swapped a 400ci into it, but i wanna make sure exactly what the engine is. What do i look for? How do i find out?

you should find the vin # on the motor or look on the insurance cause they need to know what it is for the insurance look and see if it says anywhere on the block alright

Look up the serial numbers on the block and the heads, and go here for more info:
