90 Caravan wont start, check enginge light does not come on at all.
I have a 1990 Caravan 2.5 L TBI engine. The van died last week and will not resart. I now realize the check engine light has not been on in months. (The bulb is good, checked with ohmmeter) What controls the check engine light? I cannot get codes flashed without the light.
The starter turns the engine over but I get no power to the coil on this van. The ASD relay seems to work, the fuel pump is energized. I am thinking the SBEC is bad. Is there a way to check these? It is an expensive part to buy if it is not the problem. I do get 12 volts at pin 20 on the SBEC plug.
Will a Digital Readout Box II tell me anything if the SBEC is not working?
Thanks,
