Coolant leak!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

"93" 2.2 ....Coolant started leaking pretty bad somewhere at back side of engine (2.2). Things there get wet but i cannot see what is leaking by just looking under the hood with it running. Any idea where it might be?
Thanks in advance!!

I'll bet it's your head gasket. Mine started leaking at about 70k. I've heard from other cav owners that this usually happens about 80-90k. try some Bar's leaks. It will probably stop it if it's small. If it continues after the seals up milage on the bottle, you are probably looking at ahead gasket job. I don't remember what that milage is. I think it should seal up by 250 miles. Mine started leaking again after about 90k. This time the leak is in the front of the engine. Bar's leaks isn't for everyone but to keep you running without a coolant loss and possible overheating from that loss, it'll do the job.

Re: Coolant leak!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Check the passenger side of the engine. May be your water pump. All the 2.2 head gaskets I have seen start at the front left corner of the engine (nearest the #4 cylinder).

Re: Coolant leak!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Check your rad, it could be just leaking into your frame and coming out of the frame near the back off your engine.

Better yet, run your car for a bit till it get up to temp. Than let it sit for several hours with a large slice of cardboard/contruction paper under it to determine where the leak it coming from. If it's a hose, it wouldn't be a bad idea to just replace them all.
