timing chain broke, sell or fix??
A friend has a 2000 Saturn LS1, 4 cyl. , 5 spd, with 42K. The timing chain broke on it and the dealer wants $900 to evaluate the damage. They claim this isn't covered by warranty, I'm guessing that it is the years, not the mileage. They are talking about $3000 if the get into valves, etc. What would be your course of action with this car? She is a single Mom, teacher, so not a lot of dough here.
