BOV re-circulate question

I have some sputters out of my car when crusing and at idle, but any other time it seems to be fine just happens the most at low speeds and I can still notice it a little when I'm going at a constant speed is this caused by not re-circulate the bov? If so and since everyone says it is better to re-circulate where does it need to go back into? just the pipe that goes to my air filter? I dont' know much about re-circulate as I have never ran it and haven't seen anyone else's re-circulateing setup. Let me know though... Is that also why my car when I rev it and let off that it dips way below idle then comes back up then back down and back up until it settles?

You should run it back to the inducer side of the compresser or infront of your MAFS. Ill try to get a pic up of nissan fanatics...

nevermind, i think i deleted the pic. And actually i might have screwed you up, i dont think it needs to go infront of the MAFS. Wait till nissanfanatic gets online, he'll help you out if someone else doesnt.

Re: BOV re-circulate question

it needs to go in between the MAF sensor and the turbo. if you put it before the MAF then the MAF will read the same air twice you will run rich just like if you vent to the atmosphere. if you vent to the atmosphere, the air that is being vented is already read by the MAF as going into your engine so your MAF will tell your engine to supply fuel for air that is no longer going into the engine and you will go super rich every time it vents

yes not recirculating will cause your car to run over rich and sputter, idle funny, die at idle, ect.

I vent to Atmosphere on my and the only problem Ive Ever had (besides some mean Backfires at 1500RPM) is trying to line up at about 5K it would dump the air and cause the car to start bucking. I softend the spring and pulled the Vac line going to the bottom of the diapham and it ran Perfect.

Re: BOV re-circulate question

Anyone have any pics of their recirculate? I'm pretty sure I can make my Blitz BOV recirculate as it has what appears to be a breather filter made of aluminum bolted over the exhaust port so I would assume I could unbolt this and bolt something up to it to port the air back into the intake between the turbo and the maf

Re: BOV re-circulate question

I doubt it will cause sputtering at cruising speeds. The only problems I ever had was the car dying when I let off the gas. You should have it adjusted to where it is barely open at idle. You guys may be able to just have it closed at idle, but I had compressor surge issues. I eventually hooked up my lower port to a boost only source and there went compressor surge. But here's some pics of my recirc setup. Its a KA-T, but you get the idea.

If I were you, I would check the plugs. I always seem to have an ignition problem every time sputtering/misfiring starts. Good luck.
