Arrow 4X4 low prob

I have a problem in the same way that was previous posted with the four wheel drive. I have a 1988 Ford bronco with the push button 4x4, the 4x4 high goes in just fine, but the 4low does not go in engaged when i have it in 4h the shift in N then press low range. I have a idea that there is a metal type module box with a lot of wires going into it on the passenger kickpanel. It is something to do with the 4x4 cause you can hear it click inside the it when you engage the 4h. I was sure it was dealing with the 4 wheel drive cause there was wiring plugs on one I think it for the high and other the low. I unplug the one and the high didn't go into gear.Need help thank you.

Well I found out what is hopley the problem is.It is called the transfer case shifter motor, right outside of the transfer case. So does not look like it it going to be very hard to put in and 98% sure that is the problem so thats cool.

Re: 4X4 low prob

thats wierd because it shifts into high. Is the low range gear slipping out?

I don't think so, It is not like if it is in gear then all of a sudden goes out. Its been going in more often but still problem not solved. I think I am going to have it diagnosed at a dealer.90% sure it is a prob with the Electronics with the 4x4

GOING FEEL LIKE THIS WHEN I GO TO THE DEALER

Re: 4X4 low prob

Yeah, dealers are overrated. Take it to a local tech if you can find one. Save you lots and lots of time and $.

Re: 4X4 low prob

Did the reset button fix the problem. My 94 full size is doing the same thing, High is fine, but low range won't come on. I looked for the rest button the other day and couldn't find it. So, if that's what fixed the original post let me know and I'll look alot harder. thanks.
