97 SLT AWD Transfer Case

The transfer case in my '97 SLT AWD has been going out for quite a while now. I am wondering if the Borg Warner 4472 AWD (non selectable range) transfer case can be swapped out for the (selectable range) 231C or 233C. I have access to the 231C or the 233C for $200. I will rebuild the Borg Warner if need be, but wonder if the other two would bolt right into the Borg Warners place and just require installing the selecter switch into the dash (among other things). If this swap is possible, is the wiring for the switch already in place and just requires hooking up the switch. If this swap is not possible, how difficult is it to rebuild the Borg Warner (due to the chain slipping under acceleration or slow turning on dry surfaces). Any insight is appreciated.
