thanx for the info

I found this site last thursday night, after searching for repair info for my 94 sport 2WD 235000 miles, bought it used for $1200 it had 190000 when I bought it in October. this is the second cherokee we've owned, both used, the first was totaled by a drunk driver hitting me in an intersection. So this is the first mechanical prob I've had with either. It ran great coming back from kentucky to Ohio wednesday night, started at every stop on the return trip. But thursday morning when I was to go to Columbus for work it cranked but would not fire. after reading many threads, I checked the coil, then put the multimeter on the Crankshaft position sensor and got a reading of 600+ ohms on 2 of the post in the wire coupling, and 1500+ using the other combination of posts. i bought a new sensor made by Wells at autozone for $54.99 replaced it in about 20 minutes. cranked it over and it fired right away. without the help and expertise of the Jeep enthusiasts on this forum I'd still be bangin my head and driving the 1985 Dodge Ram gas gusling beater,( I missed my Jeep even though it was only 3 days and the wife is ecstatic that the Cherokee is back on the highway) The only thing I can disagree with is the ohm reading on a new CPS is reading 475 Ohms not the 275 that I have read that they are supposed to read on a meter. THANX ALOT this will be my first stop for all my Jeep repair needs.
