Acceleration

Hey Guys, ive got the 2001 mitsubishi eclipse g2 automatic...and i was wondering, how can i increase my acceleration. See i live in almost the city kind of area so theres no place for me to go for top speed, so is there anything i can do for adjustments of my engine or things i can add, or change. thanks guys.

Re: Acceleration

motor mounts (which are a pain in the ass to do, and you probably don't have the means to do it yourself), tires, wheels, suspension, the less body roll you have the faster your car moves, forward, backward, side to side, also taking weight out helps a little but you'd have to take a lot out to notice any differences

whats a g2?

the only way to significantly increase acceleration would be to go FI. just my opinion though

The Front motormount is easy to get to, can't say the same thing about the rear one. It took me and a buddy about 3 hours to get that damn thing out. Of course we didn't have a full tool chest so we only had one size ratchet and a wrench which made things really tight.

did you not even use a press to get the old motor mounts out, and put the new ones in??

i agree though, it took him a less than 5 minutes to pull the front motor mount brace out, he looked at it, the directions, and said "crap, i don't have a press"

The deyeme racing motor mounts are direct replacements for the stock pieces. You take the old one out and you put the new mount in. Other companies such as RIPP and Energy Suspensions offer polyurethane inserts for the motor mounts which require them to be pressed in at a machine shop.
