Best Headers?

I was originally going to go with some DC sports 4-2-1 2 piece ceramic headers, but have recently been reading they are not the best bang for the buck.

Re: Best Headers?

Hmm... the best header. If all you want is a header to throw on a stock civic motor. Pick up some el'cheapo off ebay, and put your money elsewhere. If you want a header that will perform well, with a built motor. Then that's a different story.

I did search and did not find an answer that satisfied me in terms of pro's and cons.

I was also wondering, after i/h/e.. what would be the next thing to do to my n/a D16z6? Thoughts of turbo down the road but don't have enough money and know how for it yet.. so looking at the NA path right now.

Re: Best Headers?

Cam, adjustable cam gear, fuel upgrades, ignition upgrades maybe. If you're going to go turbo, you'll be wasting your $ on the header, intake and possibly exhaust (you may need to go bigger when you turbo), and you'll never get back the $ you paid for he parts.

I know I would need a new manifold and exhaust and such.. but I'm trying to figure out what motor work would give me more power w/ NA as well as start to prepare for a turbo, if I do decide to do so.

Gee I never thought of that. Oh wait, or maybe I just didn't find a satisfactory answer.

Re: Best Headers?

The best bang for your buck is Nitrous Oxide considering you use it right.

Chikara makes a good header for 4 bangers, also know as Heddman Headers.

Another place to spend money is on SUSPENSION. It's a whole lot easier making a slow car handle well then it is to make a slow car fast.

Re: Best Headers?

Start pushin' man, you'll get $ quick If you do the right setup, there's no reason to use turbo and nitrous.

Why not? Was reading about a setup where a guy has an RPM activated spray until he reaches boost at which point the spray shuts off. Seemed pretty nice.
