People get away with running low psi on large turbos, sometimes You're better off getting your fuel system up to speed. 550's and a 190 would work, or you could go bigger. They make maps for this kind of thing if you're curious, I think Kevin has one on his site. Either way the right way to do it would be tuning and upgrading fuel delivery. Depending on your setup it also might be hard to keep boost down with boost creep. That would be bad. G'luck

Edit>> With just the cat-back that you have boost creep will be a problem, something to think about.

Re: evo 16g question

Sure, you can probably run 14 or 15psi on the 16g. Not sure why someone would buy a larger turbo but not the supporting mods to actually get any power out of it. used 550s and a walbro 190lph should only set you back $200.

Throw it in, drive the car, keep it as low as you can

How low you can keep the psi will have to do with your exhaust and wastegate. Long as you don't drive with a lead foot I think you're fine. When you have the money, bump your exhaust and fuel up. Do you have all the hardware to install it?

Edit>> Sorry, responded at the same time

Cant you get away with the stock injectors for the 16g?
im getting my 16g on soon and im im waiting for my friend to upgrade his injectors on his evo so i can get them for free. wont the stock injectors be enough for the 16g they might be overworked a little but for maybe 1-2 months cause im putting on the walbro 190 just not the 550s yet so that should be alright right?

Re: evo 16g question

Keep the airflow below 30 lbs/min and it should be fine. The problem is most people cant resist the urge to blow the motor.
