I have a 96 Gt 3.1 auto, and i noticed that i have very high pwr steering fluid...
What problems could a high pwr steering fluid level cause.... And anyone got any ideas how to remove the excess fluid? Ive only had the car for a week and a half...This is the first time ive checked it |

Re: Pwr Steering fluid question
I don't think that you will have any major problems due to a high level of P/S fluid. But you may want to try a medicine dropper, I know that the make large droppers usually made of plastic, you could even use a turkey baster. You may be able to pick them up a dollar store.
Good luck |

Re: Pwr Steering fluid question
usually, overfilly of PS pump doesn't bother anything, but it really is best to stay to the marks on the stick. Do what Hoags suggests, on the cheap is use a spoon and ladle out the excess fluid.

Re: Pwr Steering fluid question
Ya just bend the spoon end off the handle to fit into opening and lift out fluid, but ya toast a spoon, lol.

Re: Pwr Steering fluid question
Knife,
Are you kidding, my wife gets pissed when I take her towels to use when I clean the car. If I had the over filled power steering and started taking silverware I probably have the spoon up my A** to straighten it out. lol. Your suggestion is a good idea, that way there is no expense and you can get it done right away. Your pretty sharp for a zombie...lol J/K. Hang in there Tam. Regards, Dan |
