Taurus fan conversion

I have a 95 GC with the 5.2 that I'm going to replace the stock clutch fan with a two speed Taurus fan. Got the fan yesterday, but I was wondering has anybody done this conversion and wired it up so that it comes on automatically and holds temp in the 180 or 190 range. I've seen the kits on Summit's web site, but they really don't give enough information. If anybody has done this or can direct me to a website I'd appreciate it.

I did this conversion last summer. I am pretty happy with it. Here's the write-up. http://jeephorizons.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=266
As you can see I used a different control set up than Carl did but I don't do too much deep water stuff so I didn't see the advantage for me. Besides I suck at wiring relays. The DC Contoller was a piece of cake to wire in. Good Luck.

Hey Byron- If you remember I PM'd you two or three weeks ago about this conversion and your responses was what convinced me to go ahead and do it. Thanks for the great info. I saw that some of these guys are saying that you must upgrade your alternator because of the higher amp draw of the Taurus fan. Did you have any problems?

I haven't had any issues. Of course I don't have any other high draw accessories like amps or stereos. If you plan on adding things like that then the alternator may come into play. But for me the stock unit has been fine. Good luck and e-mail me if you run into any snags. I'll try and help as best I can.
