Code P0401 96 Graaand Am Gt 3.1l

Check engine light came on. Had code read says P0401. Anyone know what the code is for. Thanks.

This code has to do with the EGR valve. Insufficient flow. All that means is that either the valve has gone bad or the passageway leading to the egr has become blocked . You can clean the passageway by removing the valve and phlenum and then using a wire brush to clean out the passageway. You may need to spray it with carb cleaner to loosen the carbon. Once this is done make sure to clean up the gasket surfaces and reinstall the phlenum.

Its a EGR sensor code. Its most likely a problem with your EGR solenoid. Here is where you can look up codes http://www.troublecodes.net/OBD2/Pcodes.shtml .Good Luck
