Does anyone have any experience with an alleged gas-saving device called the Fuel Genie (Canada) or Turbonator (US). It is a turbulence-inducing device that you insert in the air intake between the air filter and the throttle body that is supposed to encourage better combustion and therefore better fuel economy and more power? Seems to be in the to-good-to-be-true category!

Total waste of money.
Put it this way, if adding a "turbulator" in your intake improved fuel economy and performance, the OEMs would do it in a second. In fact, you don't want turbulent air flow because it decreases the effective flow area. Instead, automakers try to induce laminar flow in the intake and exhaust systems to reduce restriction and improve flowrates. Snake oil......Glen |

Re: Fuel Genie/Turbonator gas saver
I second Glen_T's words.
I worked for GM for a few years, and trust me, they would LOVE to have a simple, cheap way to increase mileage and performance even 0.5%. |
