I have a 1998 Dodge that will not start. Replace the fuel pump module and the relay. Turn key to on and hear fuel pump come on. Checked the fp fuse and it was good. checked the coil voltage at the connector to the distrib. Ok. Checked the voltage and ohms of the camshaft sensor.Ok. Checked for spark at the cap ok. Engine rotates but does not fire up. Plugs were replaced 3 months ago.... Please help... what else could it be

How many miles on the car? and does it crank over? if so man most likely its your timing belt. And if u have a dohc that will cause problems with the engine. NOT GOOD

Re: 98 dodge stratus will not start

Check to see if you have spark when cranking. If you don't, I recommend checking cam sensor, crank sensor and ASD relay. Mine did the same thing and it was the crank sensor. About $47 at Autozone. If it turns out to be your cam sensor, you will have to replace the whole distributor. The sensor is built into it on this car. Distributor costs around $400. (ouch) Hope this helps

Actually, it depends on which motor he has whether or not it's built into the distributer or not. 2.4's have the cam sensor on the side of the block on the drivers side.

Jphutch, you are correct. My 98 Stratus has the 2.5 V6. That is the engine I was referring to and I should have specified that. Thanks for the clarification.
