vr6 computer code

hello all,

i recently had my heater core changed and that works normal.
Except the ABS and airbag light stay on after one flash when i turn ignition.
hv someone plugged in to read computer code that says " electrical fault" what does that mean and how can light get back to normal?
The brakes are working normal and airbag never came off.

someone says might be fuse blown but i cannot find ABS/airbag fuse ?

would appreciate any advice.
cheers

Sorry all,
" electrical fault" should read " system power failure" if that makes some difference to eople who know these things.
thanks

Re: vr6 computer code

There should have been a code number associated with the fault.

actually i did not see it myself , someone plugged and recorded for me.
he also said maybe the ECU shorted , but we did not go further to investigate.

where is ECU ,
can it be replaced like a fuse?

thanks

Well, I assume they are talking about the ABS module, which is common to fail & give a code similar to what you describe. There are people on this forum advertizing they will fix your module. It's located on the ABS valve unit under the hood, not too dificult of a job.

Re: vr6 computer code

Actually, I'm unsure which system your car uses as it's UK spec. If it has an electrical module under the right side of the rear seat it's the TEVES 04, If it has a module at the bottom of the brake booster (under the hydraulic components) it's the TEVES 20 GI sytem. I don't recognize that code, what tool did you use to read it?

i had a look and found a box under rear seat with a bunch or wires going into it , model no. ZSB3A 0907367 C .
but under another rear seat i saw a bigger square box with same bunch of wires going into it but cannot see model no.
i cannot find out what tool they used to read code but it was small with portable screen and wire plug into dash socket.

they also checked sensor connection and gap but cannot tell if they are working.
last week the air bag light also came on , is it easy to take away driver air bag to check conncetion or postion? ( i saw two screws under steering wheel)
thanks

can ABS affect air bag light to turn on too?
Today a tyre mechanic checked the sensors, wiring and bearing but found nothing abnormal visually.
what will be my next step from here?
cheers

Re: vr6 computer code

In that picture the pump motor is the lower left, the hydraulic pump is the lower right & the module & valve body is the upper section. The brake lines plug into the four plugged holes below the black module at the top.

Re: vr6 computer code

The ABS module under the right rear seat should have three rows of pins. If you are looking into the connector with the cable coming out to the left the bottom row is pin #1-19, the middle is pin #20-37 & the top is pin #38-55. Check for battery voltage between pins #1 & #35 (w/traction control), #1 & #53 (w/o) with key off. If that's okay connect a jumper between pin #19 & #34 then turn ignition on. You shopuld hear the relay click & the light ABS light should go out. Under this condition check for battary voltage between pins #1 & #3. Let me know....

hi, today i managed to get a VAG 1551 code reader that reads 2 faults:
"532-035 and 589-032 , check supply voltage and ignitor 1 too great resistance "

should i still check the pin voltage to turn abs light off?
what about the air-bag light?
many thanks
