another tranny problem

hello

i have a 97 ram van with a 360, not sure which tranny it is but it will not go into reverse or drive without really stepping on the gas. once it thrusts into gear it shifts fine but downshifts when it shouldnt at highway speeds. i have replaced a transducer thingy and a solenoid which were accessable after removing the pan and it didnt do any good so now i am out 280 dollars and dont have any idea what else to try so i thought i would see if anyone here has any suggestions..thanks

you do not know what your talking about. Have you ever seen a dodge without a tranny problem?

I have a 95 ram with trans problems. and as i have read your problem i can not say this will fix the problem for sure but there is a (stupid) check ball in your tranny line it is in the line on the bottom right side of the radatior if your tans has heated/failed this checkball starts to stick causeing fluid restriction, and another failure i hope that helps.

williamp72 thanks for the info on the checkball i never wouldve known it was there..i went ahead and knocked it out but it didnt do anygood..think my trans issues are more than that at this point but it was worth a try .....
