Max hp on T25

What's up everybody! I am a newb to turbochargers and I see that everyone upgrades to bigger turbos and I wanted to know what's the max horsepower you could achieve with the stock T25. And I was reading up on the big T28 and it looks like something I might be interested in if I was to upgrade the turbo in the future. So if I was to get that what supporting mods would I have to get to run that tubo efficiently? Thanks my name is Mike.

It depends on what car u put it on and what upgrades/supporting mods your gonna add. Please list the car your gonna put that t25/28 into and it will probably clear up some confusion.

I'm gonna put it on a 96 gst 5spd. Right now all I have is a greddy type s bov. I wanted to get an idea of things I have to do and get before I started modding. I want to plan what I am going to spend my money on so I don't waste it. So when I do really begin to mod I already know what I want to get. As of right now I know I need the basics such as intake, exhaust, mbc, and guages. But after that I don't know what to do or if I have to do anything after those upgrades at all.

So 250 is the max on the T25. What about the T28? Will I need any other upgrades I already listed to get the most out of the T28?

The T25 might do ~200whp, depending on your mods. Nobody really spends thousands of dollars to get all the supporting mods then runs a T25, so who knows. The T28 is rated for 34lbs/min, which is roughly 340hp max. Yes, you will need other mods if you plan to max out any upgraded turbo. Even a 14b can max the stock fuel system. Do some reading and follow a mod list. Make sure you have the basics before you worry about turbo upgrades.

The t25 doesnt require many supporting mods at all. Shit, when I had a UICP, 1g BOV, EBC, and an AFC/logger, I maxed it out. Based on my trap speeds and the cars actual weight with me in it (put on the scale at the track), calculated whp was 251. Its a very common number for poeple that max out t25s. And they do 23-25 lbs/min, so it works out that way too. This is a miniscule amount of airflow when you look at what the cars indiviual components are capable of. Fuel system has all kinds of room. The MAS can meter double this amount of air flow. The motor can handle more than double. Etc. Maxing out a t25 is easier than poeple think. Getting the maximum reliable hp from it is the trick

I'm not a big fan of the x28s. They just arent enough of an upgrade to seem worth the cost to me. Exceptions are having to look stock for warranty reasons (are there any 2Gs on the planet still in warranty? I guess there could be some..), or class rules for certain types of racing.

Exactly right, I could use an exhaust and need to install my UICP, but am getting 19lbs/min at 6000 feet elevation. For what it's worth, IDC is only mid 60%

i'm pretty sure im maxing my t-25 out. but a logging device would sure help =) i flat out need to get dsmlink and get it over with.

hey guys while where on this subject i was woundering what the Stock PSI on my 95 GSX t25 is ? and what is the safe MAX for T25 ? cause i want to buy an MBC ( cause their cheap ) so i can get some more HP outa my car without risking my T25's life span to much. i need it to last another 5-12 months lol.

oh ya and whih MBC is highly recomended to bye ?

These questions have been answered so many times, but I'll give you the short version.

Stock t25 spring pressure, ~7 psi
Stock 2g boost, ~14 psi
Max you can effciently run on the t25, ~16 psi.

whats the spring pressure for ? the BOV ? if so if i buy a MBC and i turn my t25 upto 12-13 PSI would i have to do anything else to compansate ? or is the stock fuel system enough to handle turning up the the PSI a lil bit?

Sprinf pressure is for the WG actuator. That just means that you cant go below 7 psi. The stock fuel system is enough to take anything the t25 can dish out (its not much).

I already mentioned that I'm getting 90% of the T25's max airflow on my car, due mostly to elevation, and the injectors are only at 68%. Turn the boost to 16psi and call it a day.

and my last question is.....i know you guys arnt like walking dino's or anything but the stock GSX comes ith 215 HP.....geting a MBC and turning up my PSI to 16 would gain me how much more power? ...would my car be a little - Quite a bit - or Alot faster ? hope im not asking stupid questions i just figured while ur attention was on this thread id ask.

Ps - On a side note, i was raceing a few nights ago with a Prelude and a Civic ( civic has Prelude engine swap with Vtec ).....and i smoked the Prelude easy.....and i smoked the Crap outa the civic about 3/4 the length of the track...but near the end he started to pass me... i know he has more agressive cams but thats all as far as i know.....he was mad he didnt smoke me and i was laughing cause my clutch is bad. anyways some insight would be greatfully apriciated guys thx.

a little bit faster, depending on if your car actually runs 14psi or not stock. Mine did 10, so 16 is a difference you can feel.
