valve cover bolts/nuts

i just replaced the valve cover gaskets on my 85 lesabre because they were leaking... just wondering how tight i should put the nuts & bolts that hold the valve cover back on? i heard somewhere not to put them too tight or it will distort the valve cover and will leak anyway. thanks!

Lightbulb

Not very tight...according to my GM service manual for my 90 LeSabre, torque the bolts to 88 INCH pounds. They also say to use a medium strength thread lock compound as well. BTW, torque is same for my 94 LeSabre so you should be safe using these number for your year.
