Cool I guess I'm first..

Hey guys, I got my Matrix about a week and a half ago. I really like the car, but it needs to be upgraded ASAP. I have a Ford Focus ZX3 and its seem more quicker than the Matrix. Has anyone modded their Matrix yet?

Thumbs up

Hey Donny, i've had mine for about 3 weeks now and it's great. I went with the XR cause I wanted the 4WD. Maybe they will come out with a XRS with 4WD and a 6 speed sometime. No mods on mine, just breaking it in a little for now.

Yes, I just went over 1000 miles. Does anyone know if there is a speed limiter one the Matrix? I'm going to the SEMA show in long Beach Ca next month. I'm hoping to pick up some parts, Suspension, Intake ect... I think the Matrix looks cool lowered a bit..

I should've waited

Hey guys...I have almost 6000 miles on my XRS automatic. I'm happy w/ it but I'm not satisfied w/ the performance. RPM is at 4000 going 60+. I guess I'm just used to driving a 5 spd or I should've waited to get the 6sdp manual trans. Still looking for aftermarket add-ons. Got Chip?

I have a silver XRS. performance really isnt that good below 6000 rpms, ONce you hit that, it takes off hard. in other words you have to drive it like you stole it and wind every gear out to redline (wait for it to warm up though). Its a pretty stout engine so it can take it. So some consider it not so great as a daily driver but when you are going 60 mph down shift to third and stomp on it it will keep up with a lot more then youd think.

A cold air intake makes it better and sound great. That was the first mod I went for. I have the AEM and peformance has increased slightly below 5000 rpms and greatly above 6000 rpms.

Oh yeah UNIchip is coming out with an enhancement for all models of Matrix and taking into consideration all mods...even Forced induction. I beleive it si only feasible to have FI on the XR and base due to the high compression of the XRS.

The testers have claimed anywhere from 10 -20hp gains and 10- 20ft/lb gains in torque depending on your mods
