stiffing mounts

well i wanted to get some motor mount inserts but people say they make your car vibrate like a bitch so i said f$^& that. i was going to fill it with some caulking or something to make them a little stiffer without the vibrations. my question is where on mount do i fill and what works best to fill it with?

The Mout Has Holes Try Putting Some In There. It Might Even Be Better To Take The Mout Out Try The Sillicon And Wait For It To Cure.

i did this http://importnut.net/motormount.htm you fill the holes in the mounts with 3m window weld its a little more forgiving than inserts but still vibrates alot and you hear all the little squeaks in the winter. all in all worked pretty well though

Re: stiffing mounts

I like the insert method because they can removed. My 91 Si has the polyurethane inserts and I played around with them to see what works & feels best for me. I hate 4 cylinder vibration so using half the kit works very well. There are 2 pieces for each mount, use just one piece.

Re: stiffing mounts

just pop some viagra in your engine and the mounts should get real stiff for about 4 hours.

I agree with what he said..just make sure to call your mechanic if they're stiff for more than 4 hours.

Re: stiffing mounts

lol on the viagra jokes. What about hasport.com??? Why not get new mounts that don't cause problems rather than making the car shake if you want it to run smooth? i have heard good things about their mounts but if anyone has heard differ let me know mut i hear thats some of the best you can get if that's what you want.
