engine squeak at higher rpms

in between 4500-6500 the engine may or may not make a sqeak or a chirp that i know is probalby not good, sometimes the squeak is like half a second, oher times itll just squeeeeeeek thru the rest of the rpm. what could this be?

also the quick squeek can happen during the decline of the rpms

Re: engine squeak at higher rpms

Squeak or chirp? Hmm...may be a lose power steering belt, alternator belt, ect. Or it might be that you have a vacuum leak. My cold air used to squeak pretty bad cause I had a vacuum leak. Check to make sure your intake manifold nuts are secure. They tend to loosen up and that would also cause a squeal or chirp. Just some ideas it may be something else. Hope you get it figured out.
