2005 Monsoon system info please?

Hi -

I just bought a 05 GP with the 9 speaker Monsoon system. Can someone explain to me what the speaker in the center of the dash is there for? The CD changer doesn't play DVD audio or SACD discs, so it would seem to be useless. Is is supposed to play audio from both channels? Is there a crossover filtering certain frequencies? Just curious.

Does anyone have detailed specs on the system? Pontiac has very little information, and Monsoon doesn't even have a website.

They are currently working on the website for Monsoon. It is www.monsoonaudio.com. They are actually made by delphi which is part of delco. Hope that helps some.
