Loss Of Powerat Only Certain Speed

I have a 1995 olds cutlass supreme 3.1 with 73K on it. It has a problem at around 35 to 40 mph of power dropping out it's almost like it may actually stall but doesn't. Once you go over about 40mph it runs like a "jack rabbit" I've removed the EGR valve, cleaned, checked resistance of solonoids with a known good one--OK--added new gasket.
Also replaced TPS---still has same problem. Within the last month replaced plugs and wires. Fuel pump--OK, starts fine, fuel filter was changed about 5K ago.

What do you guys think? I thank you in advance.

i've had the problem too. When you floor it from standing, it stops shifting at about 35, but if you quick let up then floor it again it works fine. Weird. I've learned to just deal with it, though.

Thanks for responding, cmhudson I've just found out what my problem is. I was able to have a friend with a Shop Scantool check it out. It kept coming up with TCC codes which are Torque Converter problems.

Mine began with intermittent episodes, but has gotten considerably worse over the last month or so.
Maybe this can lead you to a diagnostis with yours.

Does anyone have an idea as what this will cost to repair??
