94 Taurus Brake lights

I have a Ford Taurus 1994 Sedan. It has the parking brake light on the dash come on at times while driving. I immediately checked whether the brake is on but I had disengaged it before driving.
I am not sure whether this happened when the car was cool and suddenly I braked.
If anyone has some suggestions that I could look into I will welcome that.

Thanks
Harold

Did you check your brake fluid level?

As the brakes wear the caliper pistons and the rear drum brake cylinders have to traverl farther. This pulls the level of brake fluid in the resovoir down.

Check it and top it off. THat will probably fix you problem.

It's basically under the hood directly in front of the steering wheel. There's a small, white, translucent reservoir that will have fluid (probably blue) in it. Try to clean the cap and the surrounding area so you don't get dirt in the fluid (that would be bad).
