'02 trans am cel codes
hey guys, my friend just installed NOS in his trans am and something went wrong at the track, now he's getting a check engine light (cel) and he's idling roughly.
since his american muscle is very different from my jap tuner, i wanted to know how to put his car into diagnostic mode so that the light will blink me the codes, and when it does, does anyone know what site i can find the specific codes for his car?

Re: '02 trans am cel codes
What you guys are going to have to do is take the car somewhere like AutoZone, and have them run the diagnostic scanner on it, usually they will do this for free. You can't make the car spit out the diagnostic codes from the OBD-II system any other way besides putting it onto a computer. In older cars, you could use a paperclip or something to ground out the diagnostic connector to retrieve the codes from the computer by flashing the Check Engine light, but now, since the development of more sophisticated electronics systems, a computer is required to retrieve the trouble codes. I hope all goes well, hope you get it figured out and get that 'Bird back up and running good again. Best of luck.
