Question possibility of motor swap

Hello all. Does anyone here know about how feasible it would be to swap a Typhoon motor into a '91 S-10 Blazer? The current motor is starting to show problems and I am wondering what my options are as far as putting a stronger motor under the hood. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

First off, finding a typhoon/syclone motor is going to be a bitch if you don't already have access to one. That said, not difficult, but you will need a wastegate, lots of plumbing, ecm, harness, intercooler on top of it. Again, not hard if you can come up with the motor.

I've already found a found a supplier for the motor. Check out Jasper motors if you feel the inclination. They're a pretty good source for new and rebuilt engines. www.jasperengines.com My main worry is whether everything will fit properly: motor mounts, enough space for the necessary plumbing, etc....

Has anyone ever done a swap like this? I would appreciate a heads-up on any potential problems that may occur. I don't know for sure if the stock tranny can handle the extra power that the Typhoon motor will put out. Would I need to acquire a different powertrain as well? Once again, I appreciate any help I can get.

Oh, it will bolt in just fine... Are they including the turbo with it? Motor mounts are standard 4.3 mounts, will bolt to your existing 700r4 tranny itself... The 700r4 tranny is standard in the syclone/typhoons... Your best bet for any potential probs is http://www.syty.net/forums/cmps_index.php?
