I bought my jetta used and for the last few days my EPC light will randomly come on and go off.. I checked the book and the only thing that is mentioned is if the light blinks, but it just goes on then off.. I could say that I feel a difference in performance, but not for sure.. would i need to replace sensor or can i do something to fix without purchase.. any help would be appreciated... (that means you boschman) ... lol

Re: My EPC Light on 2001 jetta
What year/model car? How many miles? My car (00 jetta vr6) does that when the MAF is total crap. It also did that once when the coil was bad and got wet, but that was a HUGE difference in power. Check engine light on?

Re: Re: Re: My EPC Light on 2001 jetta
MAF is Mass Air Flow sensor. That is still my best guess as to what's wrong. The Jetta IV is notorious for burning through them, probably about one a year. The only thing that's leaving me wondering is that the check engine light doesn't come on. Hold tight, one of the pro's will be along shortly to save the day.

There sill may be a code, I'd start with having the computer scanned. Try Autozone similar chains that will do it for free.
